It’s a brand new year and that can only mean one thing; brand new holidays! It’s never too early to start planning your next escape with your little ones, and after such a wet and windy winter, it’s not surprising that we are all left craving some sunshine and warmth!

Whether it’s your big summer holiday, an Easter break, or something much later in the year, keep reading for our top family holiday destinations for 2019. We’ve picked the best of the best, to save you some groundwork and get the ball rolling on your 2019 family adventures.

1. Croatia

top family holiday destinations 2019 - Croatia

If you’re seeking more adventure for your family in 2019, there’s no better location than Croatia. The country has faced increased tourism and exposure in recent years due to the popularity of TV series Game Of Thrones, and with the shows final season premiering in 2019, the atmosphere in Dubrovnik this year looks set to be a magical one.

However, whilst Dubrovnik is most definitely worth exploring, there’s so much more to Croatia than this one city; you can read our recent blog post on our five favourite things to do in Croatia with children for some inspiration. The ancient Diocletian’s Palace in Split offers a fascinating glimpse into life under Roman rule, whilst Krka National Park and its waterfalls’ natural beauty is truly unparalleled.

There’s also plenty of opportunity to island hop between Croatia’s numerous paradisaical islands, and with a wide variety of local pizza, pasta and seafood, you’re sure to find something your little ones will lap up!

2. Ibiza

best family holiday destinations - Ibiza

Ibiza often, and criminally, gets overlooked as a child-friendly holiday destination. While this particular Balearic Island may have a reputation for partying, the family-friendly activities it offers are just as exciting! From copious sandy white beaches, such as those in stunning Cala Llenya, to water parks aplenty (including Aguamar in Playa d’en Bossa and Ocean Mania in San Antonio), there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained in Ibiza. Take inquisitive older children to the UNESCO-protected old town (pictured above), where you can experience the local culture, and explore an excitng piece of history in a safe, child-friendly environment.

We have a whole range of Ibizan villas for you to choose from, ranging from luxury to budget-friendly so there is something to suit every family. If you still need convincing that Ibiza is a wonderful family-friendly location, read our blog post on 5 child friendly activities your kids will love to see if we can change your mind!

3. Morocco

Where to take kids on holiday - Morocco

Not wanting to face the potentially hazardous combination of long-haul flights and young children, but still fancying a hotter climate and new cultural experiences? Well, we have the answer; Morocco! It’s a child-friendly flight from London to Marrakesh of just under 4 hours. However, once you step foot into this North African paradise, it feels like another world.

If you’re seeking a villa in the Marrakesh area, we’d definitely recommend Lak Lak. The property is a mere 20 minutes’ drive from Marrakesh centre, is steeped in luxurious yet authentic Moroccan décor, and has its very own Berber tent, located in a luscious rose-scented garden. In the city, children will be wowed by snake charmers and fire eaters, whilst back at the villa we offer a complete children’s menu, so you can enjoy this beautiful far-off land without wondering how fussy eaters will cope!

4. Menorca

Top family holiday destinations 2019 - menorca

Our final pick for 2019 is undeniably one of the best family holiday destinations in Europe- the classic Balearic family favourite of Menorca. If it’s relaxed, guaranteed family fun you’re wanting, this is certainly the location for you. It’s the more laidback of the Balearics, with an abundance of white sandy beaches, warm waters and just the right amount of activities to keep the kids entertained. What’s more, temperatures rarely rise above enjoyably hot; perfect for families with young kids especially, or those sensitive to the heat.

To enjoy Menorca to its full potential, you simply have to rent a villa. One of our personal favourites is Calle Sur; affordable, yet beautiful, and nestled right on the marina, this little slice of heaven is incredibly relaxed, yet located a mere 3 minute walk from a more bustling hub, meaning a plethora of children’s facilities are all close by.

Wherever you venture with your family this year, we hope you create memories that’ll last a lifetime.
